Nigeria has taken delivery of the first batch of the Nigerian Air Force A-29 Super Tucano Aircraft in Kano on Thursday, 22nd July 2021.
The Minister of Defence Maj Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi (retd) officially took the delivery of the aircraft.
On hand to receive the aircraft with General Magashi were the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Faruk Yahaya and his Counterpart, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao.
The Defence Minister thereafter performed the symbolic ceremony of unveiling the Nigerian flag on the aircraft.
He was later joined by the Service Chiefs on hand for on the spot inspection of the Super Tulcano aircraft.
According to a statement by the Special Assistant to the Minister of Defence on Media and Publicity Mohammad Abdulkadri, “The new addition to the fleets of the Nigerian Air Force is one of the six Aircrafts being expected to boost the capabilities of the Service in the theatres of combats.”
