Nigeria restates commitment to provide quality healthcare

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare in Nigeria, Muhammad Ali Pate has restated the country’s commitment to provide quality healthcare to citizens regardless of socio-economic status.

He stated this during the 64th session of the National Health Council meeting tagged; “Building Resilience and Inclusive Healthcare System for a Health Nigeria,” being held in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State

The Coordinating Minister disclosed that the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) established in 2014 was being redesigned to become more effective and efficient

“The BHCPF 2.0 will serve as a special purpose vehicle to drive the strategic shifts and priority initiatives that will see us moving towards accomplishing our ambitious but achievable goals and objectives. Already, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, HE President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, has approved the adoption, design and implementation of a domesticated, context-sensitive sector-wide approach as an innovative, holistic, and coordinated strategy for the improvement of health outcomes.”
