Nigeria to Set up Blue Economy Information Desk at Ports of Entry

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA says it has made progress in its fforts to establish a Blue Economy information desk at Ports of entry into Nigeria.

The Direcror General of NIMASA, Bashir Jamoh said in a tweet on social media channel, X, that the project received a nod from the Ministry of Aviation.

“Our quest, under the supervision of the Marine and Blue Economy Ministry, to establish Blue Economy information desks at all International Airports in the country received a boost today after a fruitful discussion with the Honorable Minister of Aviation, Mr Festus Keyamo SAN,” he said.

Mr Jamoh said the Blue Economy Information desk would harness potentials of the maritime sector.

“The Blue Economy desk at the Ports will enhance inter-ministerial collaboration to harness potentials in our Maritime sector by creating awareness of a functional intermodal transport system and tourism amongst others, which are critical components of a growing maritime nation.”
