Nigeria Unveils CLAP Platform to Support Over Two Million Youths

Hannatu Musawa, the Nigerian Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, has unveiled the Creative Leap Accelerator Platform (CLAP) in collaboration with Duxede and Playhouse, aimed at benefiting over two million Nigerian youths.
Musawa made the announcement at the National Council for Arts and Culture, which serves as the primary implementing agency, according to a press release signed by Dr. Dennis Olufo, Head of Media at the National Council for Arts and Culture, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Explaining the significance of the initiative launched, the Statement said
She said “A key feature of this initiative is the ORIGINS platform, which is National Council for Arts and Creative Economy, NCAC’s Innovative Digital Repository, that curates Nigerian history & culture, and provides global black connectivity, by combining these resources the partnership provides a unified strategy for revitalizing the creative industry”.
“This coordinated approach that leverages both physical hubs and digital platforms, promises to deliver a comprehensive, accessible support system for the creative community“. The Statement explained
Committing this development, Director General, National Council for Arts and Creative Economy, Mr. Obi Asika, inaugurated an operational committee that will drive this program, aggregating the capacity building programs from all Agencies and NCAC initiatives beginning with Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (ICE) and the Council’s cultural inventory initiative, ORIGINS.
The committee is led by the Director General and includes members from the Honorable Minister’s Office, the NCAC, as well as partners from the private sector.
“The strategic alliance forged by NCAC with Dexude and PlayHouse Communications as key implementation partners for ICE and ORIGINS, respectively, leverages relationships with ISN Hubs; a nationwide network of over 200 hubs in 32 States and the F.C.T; as well as the Committee of Vice-Chancellors (CVC), who bring 235 locations. As the initiative evolves, additional locations will be incorporated, creating a hybrid ecosystem that integrates physical and digital resources to support Nigeria’s creative industry”. Mr. Obi Asika stated
“The partnership is designed to streamline resources, bridge skill gaps, and enhance capacity-building opportunities across the sector”.
“By 2027, the initiative aims to upskill over two million Nigerian youths, empowering the next generation of creative talent”. The DG added
The objective is leveraging technology to advance the sector to reposition Nigeria as a global leader in creative innovation.
