Nigeria Unveils NEV T6 Electric Bus in Clean Energy Push

Nigeria has made a significant stride towards sustainable energy with the official launch of the NEV T6 Electric Bus and its supporting charging infrastructure, marking a key milestone in the country’s shift to clean, technology-driven transportation.

The event, held in Abuja, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to witness this breakthrough in green mobility and energy efficiency.

Speaking at the launch, Chief Uche Nnaji, Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, described the initiative as transformative for the nation’s transport sector, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He highlighted that the electric bus and infrastructure directly support key objectives of the Renewed Hope 8-Point Agenda, particularly in economic growth, job creation, energy transformation, and industrialisation.

“The NEV T6 Electric Bus is more than just a vehicle—it represents a bold step towards a cleaner, smarter, and more energy-efficient Nigeria. This initiative highlights the crucial role of technology-driven solutions in shaping our nation’s future,” said Chief Nnaji.

The launch underscores Nigeria’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions, enhancing urban mobility, and embracing next-generation energy solutions. The deployment of advanced charging infrastructure further strengthens the country’s ambition to decarbonise its transport sector and build a resilient energy ecosystem.
