Nigeria, US sign Development Objectives Assistance Agreement

Nigeria and the United states have signed the $2.1 billion 2021 – 2026 Development Objectives Assistance Agreement (DOAG).

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyema and the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken yesterday signed the agreement acting through the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

Meanwhile, Vice-President Osinbajo who was present during the signing of agreement said: ‘’Succeeding a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, my meeting with Secretary Blinken occasioned the signing of the 2021-2026 Development Objective Assistance Agreement (DOAG).

“Acting through the U.S Agency for Intentional Development (USAID), the DOAG will play a role in supporting the achievement of our development goals, particularly regarding better healthcare and economic growth.”
