‘Nigeria will be better than Dubai under me’ – APC Presidential Candidate
Jack Acheme, Kano
The All Progressive Congress APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu has promised that under his leadership, if elected in 2023, Nigeria will be far better than Dubai.
Tinubu stated this while addressing leaders of the Tijjania Islamic sect at the Africa House, Government House, Kano state, North Western Nigeria.
The sect has over 60 million followers across Nigeria, representing 2/3 of Muslims in the nation.
During the interactive session, the presidential hopeful said he would dedicate 100 percent of his time and energy to developing and uniting Nigeria.
“I promised 100 percent we will be better than Dubai. We are giving you a progressive blueprint.”
The sect members demanded ending banditry and insurgency, ensuring qualitative education, adequate power supply, industrialisation, food security, physical security, dredging of the River Niger, and improved railway system.
Tinubu promised to implement all when voted in as they are already captured in his manifestoes recently unveiled among other democratic dividends.
The APC presidential candidate advised Nigerians to support the party to restore the power supply against the PDP, which ruled for 16 years and spent $16 billion on the power supply without many results.
Referring to the National Anthem, Tinubu said the time has come when Nigerians should do away with ethnic interest and promote national unity and cohesion.
“No one will come and divide us again.
” I just want to thank you for the endorsement, prayers, commitment and support. I am only a few steps away to become the President, so, your prayers are answered.”
Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, described the occasion as historic and urged the Tijjania Sect to support the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket.
The leader of the Tijjania Sect in Kano, Khalifa Bashir Tijjani Usman, presented the position paper of the Tijjania Shura Council to Tinubu.
He also offered prayers for God to allow Tinubu to become the next President of Nigeria.
Tinubu also had interactive sessions with the Izala Sect (Ahalussun’a Islamic group), who encouraged him to remain steadfast in his desire to rebuild Nigeria.
The group’s spokesman, Dr. Sale Pakistan, recalled the long-standing mutual relationship between the Sect and Tinubu.
He commended the giant strides of the APC administration under Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in Kano State. He prayed for the success of APC candidates, including gubernatorial and presidential, in the 2023 general elections.
In his brief remarks, Ganduje described leaders of the Izala sect as very knowledgeable and thanked them for endorsing the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ambition.
Tinubu, while addressing the Izala sect, said, “I stand to accept your endorsement and Insha Allah, we will win the presidency.”
He promised to ensure that the items in their document, which include building a university and including their members in the cabinet, will be done.
He promised to invite them, especially for a more extended discussion and interaction.
Tinubu played host to several other religious and interest groups and promised to carry them along if elected President in 2023.
And Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not in Kano for the actual presidential campaign rally, he is only here to engage stakeholders, interact with support groups and formally open APC campaign office. #BATKSM2023 pic.twitter.com/j4i2KPdJoI
