Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) have expressed appreciation to the Nigerian government for making the business environment condusive despite current challenges.

Vice Chairman of the association, Allen Onyema, stated this in an interview with Journalists after a delegation of AON paid a visit to the Vice President.

He expressed optimism that the government will continue to support the aviation sector in Nigeria.

He said: “Aviation all over the world has been a turbulent arena since after the COVID because of the supply chain issues. This is not peculiar to Nigeria but the Nigerian government is listening to us and making sure the ease of doing business in the sector is back.

“I have just had a session with the Vice President and everything he said is that the government is actually promoting the ease of doing business.”

Onyema added that the airline operators are hoping that the government will also address the issue of numerous charges faced by the operators.

“I can testify that the government is actually promoting the ease of doing business, especially in aviation. You can see the wonderful job Festus Keyamo is doing in that end. He is performing wonders there so we are happy.

“We are here to also thank the government because they have been giving us listening ears and we want more of that, to make sure all those numerous charges we face are removed and we have every confidence that the government will do something about it,” he added.
