For the second consecutive day this week, transactions ended in the negative territory at the close of mid-week trading on the Nigerian Equities market.
The all-share index dropped by 0.09% to close at 195,898.54 basis points which is 165.57 points lower than Tuesday’s 196,066.11 points.
In the same vein, the market capitalisation shed N107 billion to close at N125,750 trillion as against N125,857 trillion the previous day.
The market sentiment for the day was also negative as trading closed with 29 gainers relative to 40 decliners.
Nigerian Exchange Group led the gainers with 10% price gain and a closing price of N186.45k, followed by Premier Paints with 9.92% price gain closing at N19.40k and Omatek Ventures with a price gain of 8.95% to close at N2.80k.
On the losing side were Presco, UAC of Nigeria and Morison Industries which lost 10%,9.97% and 9.94% to close at N2,083.90k, N104.25k and N10.87k respectively.
Wema Bank recorded the highest volume of shares for the day at 106 million and was followed by Access Holdings with 59 million shares.
Wednesday trading saw a total of 671,255 million shares with market value of N26.12 billion traded in 58,784 deals.
