The Chief of Training (Army), Major General Abubakar Ndalolo, has urged Nigerian Army training institutions to prioritize the conduct of courses that are relevant, adaptive, and mission-focused in order to effectively tackle contemporary operational challenges.
Maj Gen Ndalolo made this call during the weeklong 2025 Mid-Year Courses Appraisal Conference, organized by the Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA). The event, held at the TRADOC NA headquarters auditorium in Minna, brought together stakeholders from Army training institutions and formation training schools.
Represented by the Deputy Chief of Training (Army) for Courses and Examinations, Major General Ayoola Aboaba, Maj Gen Ndalolo emphasized the importance of the conference, stating that its aim was to collectively assess the conduct and impact of courses within Army training institutions during the first half of the year. He highlighted the need to identify implementation gaps, align training with emerging operational demands, and address contemporary security challenges.
He reassured participants of the Army Headquarters Department of Training’s commitment to facilitating relevant, adaptive, and mission-driven training programs that will equip personnel to respond effectively to the nation’s security needs. According to him, the ultimate objective of training is to produce competent, confident, and mission-ready officers and soldiers for the Nigerian Army.
In his closing remarks, Maj Gen Ndalolo reiterated the Army Headquarters’ commitment to personnel training in line with the approved 2025 training directives. He commended participants for their professionalism and dedication in advancing training activities across Nigerian Army training schools over the past six months.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Commander TRADOC NA, Maj Gen Kevin Aligbe, said the conference provided an opportunity to assess progress and propose solutions to challenges faced by Army training schools and formations during the six-month training period.
Represented by the Chief of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation at TRADOC NA, Maj Gen Aminu Chinade, Maj Gen Aligbe stated that the appraisal focused on evaluating compliance with approved course schedules and identifying challenges, while recommending adjustments to align with the Nigerian Army’s 2025 training directives.
Aligbe stated that the objectives of the conference had been achieved. He informed training institutions that the suggestions and updates presented by deputy commandants and directors of studies from various institutions would help TRADOC streamline and rationalize courses for the third and fourth quarters of 2025, in line with its statutory responsibilities.

Maj Gen Aligbe emphasized that Nigerian Army training institutions remain pivotal to the capacity building and professional development of personnel, which is essential for fulfilling the Army’s constitutional mandate. He urged the schools to remain committed to excellence.
He also reminded participants of the upcoming Exercise MUGUN BUGU 2025, which will involve the Combat Arms, Combat Support Arms, and Combat Service Support Arms, scheduled to take place later in the year. He urged all stakeholders to begin preparations for the exercise.
Maj Gen Aligbe expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for his strategic leadership, guidance, and support in advancing the mission of TRADOC and the Nigerian Army at large.
