Nigerian Army Decimates Terrorists, Recovers Arms in Borno, Nasarawa Operations

Troops of the Nigerian Army have obliterated terrorists and recovered firearms in successfully conducted ‘clearance, cordon and search’ operations in Borno and Nasarawa states.

The troops, in collaboration with hybrid Force, carried out a clearance operation in Kana Village, Biu  Local Government Area of Borno State, on April 19, 2024. During the operation, troops had an encounter with the terrorists around Nguma Village and neutralized two of them in the firefight.

The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, one motorbike, 6 bicycles, and other sundry items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.

In a separate operation on the same day, while acting on credible intelligence, Nigerian Army troops deployed in Nasarawa State conducted a ‘Cordon and Search’ operation at suspected criminals’ hideouts around Abuni Village in Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The operation led to the recovery of 2 AK-47 rifles, 2 AK-47 magazines, and 35 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special). The recovered weapons were found in the residence of one Mr. Abdullahi Musa, leading to the arrest of other suspects.

The Nigerian Army says these successful operations point to troops’ commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the populace and urges members of the public to continue to support the Nigerian Army, other services, and security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations.
