According to Lt. Olubodunde Oni, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade, the operation took place on September 16, 2024, resulting in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and a cache of ammunition.

Lt. Oni revealed that the troops apprehended a key member of the gang, Malam Ali Tambaya, in Wanzani village, who had an AK-47 rifle and 42 rounds of 7.62 MM special ammunition.
