The Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) and the 31 Artillery Brigade jointly hosted the 2024 Joint West African Social Activities (WASA) event on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Minna Military Cantonment.

The event, held to mark the conclusion of the training year, gathered military personnel, their families, members of other security agencies in Niger State, and esteemed guests.
The atmosphere was vibrant, featuring cultural performances, music, tug-of-war contests, and captivating dance displays.
In his address, the Special Guest of Honour and Commander of TRADOC, Major General Kevin Aligbe, expressed his joy and appreciation for the event.
He emphasized the importance of the event for the Nigerian Army, highlighting its role in fostering social interaction, unity, and camaraderie.
Major General Aligbe commended TRADOC NA and the 31 Artillery Brigade for successfully conducting their training activities despite the challenging security situation in Niger State.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of fallen colleagues, including the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja CFR.
The event included goodwill messages from representatives of the Executive Governor of Niger State and the Emir of Minna. Additionally, awards of excellence were presented to 11 soldiers from participating formations, including TRADOC NA, the 31 Artillery Brigade, and the 313 Artillery Regiment.
The WASA 2024 celebration strengthened the bonds essential for sustaining morale and operational efficiency. The event concluded with the ceremonial beating of the retreat and the lighting of the bonfire.
