Nigerian Army Pledges to Restore Stability Nationwide

The Nigerian Army has pledged to maintain aggressive operations against criminal elements and restore stability across the country, with particular attention to recent security concerns in Kogi State.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu affirmed that the Army will continue deploying all necessary resources to confront emerging threats.

In a statement signed by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Army Chief gave the assurance while receiving the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, at Army Headquarters in Abuja.

Lieutenant General Shaibu reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property nationwide.

He emphasised that “the service will sustain an intensified operational tempo aimed at dismantling criminal networks and reinforcing peace and stability.”

Lieutenant General Shaibu further underlined the importance of strengthening collaboration with state governments to enhance the nation’s security architecture.

Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo congratulated Lieutenant General Shaibu on his appointment as the 25th Chief of Army Staff, describing it as ‘well deserved and reflective of his leadership capability.’

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting Lieutenant General Shaibu with the responsibility of leading the Nigerian Army at such a critical time.

The Governor commended the Army for its consistent role in safeguarding the nation and acknowledged the complexities of current security challenges.

He pledged the full support of the Kogi State Government for ongoing and future military operations within the state.
