Nigerian Army to provide adequate security at NYSC Orientation Camps

The Nigerian Army says additional security will be provided at the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) Orientation Camps across the country.

The Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya gave the assurance when the Chairperson of the NYSC National Governing Board, Fatima Abubakar paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The Army Chief said that; The Army will provide the security needed among other operations that will improve NYSC work.

According to Fatima Abubakar, the Nigerian Army established the NYSC which has grown to become the most outstanding Organization that continues to foster national unity in the country

She added that since the establishment of the NYSC, the Nigerian Army has been one of the greatest supporters of the Scheme.

Abubakar said that The visit is to appreciate the Nigerian Army their greatest benefactors for making NYSC a great Organization that it is today, and to also plead for more support in terms of provision of additional security to Orientation Camps across the Country”.

She noted that she must also comment on the excellent officers the Army Chief has consistently sent as his representatives on the NYSC Board.

Since my appointment as Chairman of the Board, she has worked with intelligent gentlemen who represent him on the Board”.

Abubakar praised the Army officers that have worked with NYSC for their good conduct, intelligence and expertise in helping the Board and the Scheme
