Nigerian Defence Academy Conducts Field Training Exercise

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is set to conduct a 5-day Field Training Exercise, Exercise PRE CAMP HIGHLAND, for its final-year cadets of the 72 Regular Course Army.

According to Major Mohammed Maidawa, Public Relations Officer of the Academy, the exercise will take place from June 16 to 20, 2025, in various locations within the Jaji general area under Igabi and Giwa Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

The exercise will be conducted in the following areas:
* Dadin Kowa
* Fasahiya (Rugan Fulani)
* Dinki Village
* Anguwan Sarkin Noma Village
* Gwada
* Sabon Birni
* Amada
* Tudun Amada
* Anguwan Beri Beri
* Wazata.

During the exercise, residents may notice:
* A visible presence of troops in the areas.
* Sounds of gunshots and explosive activities are associated with the training.

Major Maidawa assured that all necessary safety measures and arrangements have been put in place to ensure safety in the exercise areas.

Residents are advised to remain calm and vigilant while carrying out their normal activities.

“We appreciate the understanding of the local communities and urge everyone to remain calm and vigilant while carrying out their normal activities. Your cooperation is vital to ensure a safe and effective training exercise,” Major Maidawa stated.

The exercise is designed to test the cadets’ leadership skills, physical fitness, and command and control abilities, among other military competencies.

“It is a vital part of their training and a prerequisite for their graduation and commissioning into the Nigerian Commission.”

The Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, appreciates the understanding of the local communities.
