Nigerian Fast Raising Star Keme releases New single

Fast raising Nigerian Artist, Kemejika Owhonda, best known as Keme, is representing his Niger Delta bloods as he makes waves, gives Vibes with his new Single called ‘A New Dawn’.

From 2018 when he started to write and freestyle songs, Keme has been having a wonderful moment in music industry. To ice the cake, he has opened a record label the Shuriken Music Group with his brothers.

Narrating how he ventured into music Keme said he started making beats and selling them online under a pseudonym.

“Then eventually I started writing lyrics to those beats and making my own songs. Then help came from brother and friends. Now I am good at it. My sound is very raw and authentic. I like to rap over dark beats and show lyricism but also make music that people want to get active to and turn up. I rap about real life experiences and things that I want to achieve or have achieved.”

“I think in the industry right now there are a lot of bootlegs and prototypes. A lot of people try to sound like other people or say things in songs that isn’t true to their life. I am authentic and every bar I write is me. My influences are My family, Drake, Psycho Yp, Nasty C and Gunna. I have an Ep out titled “A New Dawn” and several other singles as well.”

From Minneapolis, Keme came to Port-Harcourt to perform in his hometown. “I performed at Aboli fest in Port Harcourt and I was one of the headliners for a Juneteenth celebration in Minneapolis. Right now, I am mainly focused on promoting my Ep and working on the second one. I am also running my label, which I started with my brothers, the Shuriken Music Group. We have so much planned and we can’t wait to share it.

Keme wants people to care about his music because he makes real art, ”I make real music that people could relate to because it is real. It is based of real experiences, goals and ambitions. My music makes you feel good, it makes you think and it gives you an insight into my mind, thoughts & feelings,” he added.
