Nigerian Gospel artiste sensitises youths on drug abuse danger

A Nigerian gospel Artiste, Omotola Ekerin, popularly known as ‘Omotola Sax’, on Saturday expressed concern over how youths in Nigeria continue to embrace and consume illicit drugs.
The award-winning female saxophonist, said that it was time the society rose up against the menace of illicit drugs consumption.
The gospel artiste that because of her concern, plans were in top gear by her team to sensitise Nigerian youths on the dangers of drug abuse on Nov. 17.


She said that the sensitisation would be ahead of her concert which would hold on the same day.
Omotola Sax said that the theme of the sensitisation was, “Renewed Hope For Addicts”.
“We are worried about current happenings in the society as young children continue to embrace illicit drug consumption.
“It is time the society unanimously rise up against such menace.
“My aim of organising this is to promote good morals among the youth as well as godly and upright living.
“Renewed hope for addict is a campaign strategy for drug abuse, exposing the side effects of drug abuse.
“We have invited over 200 schools across Lagos to be part of this at Ejigbo Stadium,” she said

Ekerin said that the Alabaster Concert, which started since 2010, had recorded great success stories, with another edition holding on Nov. 17 after the drug abuse campaign.
She encouraged Nigerians to participate in the two iconic events for the day as it promised to be enriching.
“The concert has brought about unity within the community and has touched lives positively. I am looking forward to achieving more at this coming edition,” she said.
