Nigerian government pledges to open Air force Base in Kafanchan

The Federal Government has pledged to look into the possibility of opening an Air force base in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State to fortify the security architecture in Southern Kaduna.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari made the pledge in response to the request made by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Jema’a, Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu at his palace in Kafanchan.

 

He disclosed that, government would look into the possibility of modernising the Kafanchan railway station to boost rail and commercial activities in the area.

 

The President was at the Emir’s palace after the official commissioning of four township roads constructed by the Kaduna State government under its urban renewal programme in Kafanchan town.

 

Earlier in his address, the Emir, Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu thanked and commended the President and his host, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai for ensuring peace, security and infrastructural development in his domain.

 

The Emir said, his emirate would be delighted if railway activities were reactivated and upgraded through the modernisation of the Kafanchan railway station.

 

He also requested for an Airforce base in Kafanchan to strengthen the present security network in the area.

 

The Emir also hoped that the Kaduna State government rebuild and modernise the Kafanchan town market to boost trading activities in the area.
