Nigerian Government Recommits to Policy Implementation

The Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris, says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration recommits to implementing policies that would improve the livelihood of Nigerians and place the nation in its place of pride among the Comity of Nations.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris while speaking at the World Press Conference for President Bola Tinubu’s One year in office, in Abuja said the administration recognises the importance of human capital development and cherishes the contributions of the workforce to the successes recorded so far.

According to the Minister of Information, the government places a premium on its human capital and substantial investments.

He therefore encouraged the media to be patriotic in their reportage and bring Nigerians up to speed with policies and programmes of government.

The media in Nigeria had been largely free, And President Ahmed Tinubu is determined to make it even freer. In turn, we also request you, members of the media, to please keep focus by reporting honestly, responsibly and with a deep sense of patriotism for our fear nation and also to hold the government accountable”, he said.

He maintained that the good things happening in the country far outweigh the bad things, and they should be projected.

Over time, the Ministry of Information and National Orientation found it worthy to always brief the media and people on what the Federal Government is doing. It is not just a government responsibility, but the responsibility of all of us, government media practitioners, individuals, bloggers and those in the social media space. So that Nigeria can reach the desired prosperity. You cannot develop in a toxic atmosphere, where someone just relates whatever he thinks he wants to relate”, he noted

Minister Idris added that the Government’s commitment to good governance and the rule of law has strengthened the democratic institutions and enhanced transparency and accountability in governance.

“It is however instructive to note, that the act of nation-building is not for the government alone, it is a collective responsibility and commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria. Let us therefore rededicate ourselves to the ideals of unity, peace and progress by working together towards realizing the full potential of our great nation. Together, let us continue to strive towards a better future for Nigeria and its people”, he added that

As Nigeria strives towards a better and prosperous future, the government maintains that economic revitalisation, social inclusion, and infrastructural development remain a goal that must be achieved.
