The Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Kwara State, Central Nigeria, Oba Joel Oyatoye Olufayo II, has canvassed the need to promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage beyond the country.

The Monarch said this when he paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s High Commission in London, where he was warmly received by the Acting High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mohammad Maidugu.
The royal father emphasised the need to deepen Nigeria’s cultural diplomacy and enhance the global visibility of Nigerian arts, values, and traditions.
The Oloro reflected on his past collaborations with the Federal Government through his Asa Day Worldwide Inc., Canada, aimed at preserving and projecting Nigeria’s culture through entertainment and creative initiatives.
Oba Joel Oyatoye Olufayo II reaffirmed his dedication to showcasing Nigeria to the world.
He noted that Nigerians achieving success abroad not only reflects personal accomplishment but also enhances the nation’s global image.
“The desire to give our culture a global space has driven my work over the years,” the monarch said.
“I give glory to God for guiding that passion, never knowing it would one day lead to my becoming a king,” he said.
Responding, Acting High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mohammad Maidugu, expressed his appreciation for the monarch’s visit and extended a formal welcome on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Maidugu commended Oba Joel Oyatoye Olufayo II’s exemplary leadership and his commitment to promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage both at home and abroad.
