President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of the first female Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), Professor Antonia Taiye Simbine with effect from 1st June 2022.
Professor Simbine will be succeeding the outgoing Director-General, Dr Folarin Gbadebo-Smith whose tenure will expire on 31st May 2022.
A statement signed by the Special Assistant Media to the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Sufuyan Ojeifo disclosed that the newly appointed Director-General is a Professor of Political Science and International Relations.
She currently heads the Knowledge Management Development Department at NISER.
