President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured more resources to roads, rail, power, healthcare, education and digital infrastructure, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to continue to build and to serve citizens.
The President gave the assurance on Wednesday during his remarks at the Official Commissioning of Arterial Road and other Roads in katampe district of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
President Tinubu emphasised that only through a well-coordinated and integrated approach to development can the country realise its full potential.
Highlighting the importance of infrastructure in national progress, President Tinubu stressed that such essential facilities are not logic but a fundamental requirement and the foundation for national competitiveness, economic growth, social cohesion, and opportunities.
“Infrastructure is not a logic. It is a necessity. It is the bedrock of national competitiveness, growth, social integration and economic opportunity. We recognize that our nation’s development is linked to the quality of infrastructure connecting people, cities and industries.
“There’s no way industrialization will flourish without good roads. We are investing in roads, rail,power, health care, education and digital infrastructure. It is only through this coordinated and integrated development that we can unlock Nigeria’s full potential. I promise you, we will.”
President Tinubu stated that since assumption into office on May 29, 2023, his administration has been driven by a philosophy focused on reform and renewal.
He noted that the inauguration of the N16 Shehu Shagari way from Ring Road Nnamdi Azikwe to Arterial Road N20 Wole Soyinka way including an interchange and inter roads in katampe district of the Federal Capital Territory, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to continue to build and to serve citizens.
“Since assuming office in May 29, 2023, this administration has been guided by a philosophy anchored on reform and regeneration. Today we’ve seen intangible proof of that philosophy in action.
“The corridor was on underdeveloped for years, despite the central role in Abuja master plan. Today, that narrative has changed.”

The President who noted that the recently inaugurated road was underdeveloped for several years has now become a modern, functional and durable infrastructure now fully realised under the leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
President Tinubu said the road will ease traffic conjunction around Central Abuja and improved connectivity to developing districts such as katampe and Jahi and mabushi.

The Nigerian Leader stressed that the project represents more than a stretch of asphalt and affirmed the administration’s commitment to urban transformation under the renewed Hope agenda.
“It will stimulate housing and business growth while serving as a foundation for future city integration.
President Tinubu commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Terrirory, Nyesom Wike and the entire FCT Administration for showcasing teamship as the hallmark of good leadership.
” He could not achieve this alone without your collaboration as a team builder, a team player, it is impossible, but you have proved that teamship is the hallmark of good leadership.
The President called on citizens for protection of the infrastructure stressing that the government has fulfilled its obligation.
The road belongs to the communities as citizens of Abuja and us as the federal government, I urge you to protect it and use it wisely.
President Tinubu commended the Gishiri community for their cooperation with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) during the peaceful relocation process.
He emphasized that the community was not forcibly displaced, unlike other government actions insisting that the goal remains development.
“The government has played its part. We did not ignore you. We did not worry about protest, and I shall commission this road, N16 to the glory of God Almighty, I reaffirmed our commitment that we will continue to build, we continue to serve the people, no matter how much the naysayers pursue their politics.”
President Tinubu further commended the Minister of FCT for his dedication to nation building despite party difference.
“We have somebody in Nyesome Wike, he’s not a member of my party, not yet, but the day changes his mind and register with progressive, We, welcome him because we will join him in singing as he dey pain dem, e dey sweet us.” President Tinubu added.
