Kafayat Shittu Celebrates Giresun Sanayispor’s Promotion to Turkish Super League

Nigerian midfielder Kafayat Shittu has expressed her excitement after helping Giresun Sanayispor secure promotion to the Turkish Women’s Super League for the first time in the club’s history.

Despite a 1-0 loss to Yuksekova in the final playoff match, Giresun Sanayispor clinched a historic promotion by finishing second in the Turkish Women’s Football League playoffs.

Shittu Reflects on Milestone Achievement

Speaking to sports journalists in Ilorin, Kwara State, the former Moje Queens midfielder shared her joy at being part of the team’s success.

 “I’m happy to be among the players that qualified the team for promotion. This is the first time, and I’m proud to be part of this achievement,” she said.

Shittu, who has been a standout performer for her club this season, also praised her teammates and technical crew for their collective effort in achieving the remarkable feat.

With Yuksekova emerging as champions, Giresun Sanayispor now prepares for the challenges of top-flight football in Turkey’s premier women’s league.
