Nigerian musical ‘Ada the country’ wraps 2nd edition
The much riveted easter musical ‘Ada the country’ has just been concluded.
The enthralling act which took place from the 15th -18th of April 2022 at the Shell Hall of the Muson Centre, Lagos state, Nigeria was an all female cast.
‘Ada the country’ focuses on the power of the Nigerian woman; her autonomy, resourcefulness, and might. It follows the story of Ada, a character, who loses her 9-month-old daughter and property in a fire incident which she barely survives herself. The traumatic experience sends her into depression but with the support of women across different generations, who have been through such harrowing experiences, she is able to walk through a process of restoration.
The beautiful piece was directed by the multi-award-winning producer cum actor, Kemi Lala Akindoju and written by award-winning writer, poet and performer, Titilope Sonuga.
Doyenne circle, an organization dedicated to supporting women to achieve their goals and the producer of the musical took to their Instagram page to post beautiful photos of the event with the caption:

‘Ada The Country’ featured veterans and rising stars in the Nollywood industry who brought all their talents to stage ranging from music, acting to dancing.
Veterans like Patience Ozokwor, Joke Silva, Bikiya Graham Douglas, Chioma Chigul Omeruah, Lala Akindoju, Oluchi Odii, Tosin Adeyemi, Imoh Eboh among others made it a success.
Ada the country 1.0, that is the first edition of the musical held on the 2nd to the 5th of January, 2020.
