President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid tribute to Alhaja Lateefat Olufunke Gbajabiamila, Lagos State’s first elected female local government chairperson, describing her as a trailblazer in Nigeria’s political landscape.
President Tinubu ‘s remarks came as Alhaja Gbajabiamila marks her 95th birthday.
In a statement signed by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu extolled Mrs Gbajabiamila, who is also the mother of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
He lauded Mama Gbajabiamila’s unmatched kindness, humility, and unwavering dedication to serving God and humanity.
President Tinubu also described the Matriarch of Gbajabiamila as a formidable political force in Lagos State and beyond, reflecting on her impactful service as the first elected female local government chairperson during the Lateef Jakande Administration.
He said Alhaja Gbajabiamila’s name will undoubtedly stand out when chronicling the women who have left lasting marks on Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.
Alhaja Lateefat Gbajabiamila is a revered leader, accomplished entrepreneur, and a philanthropist.
The President thanked Mama for her support and consistent prayers and asks God Almighty, whom she serves faithfully, to grant her many more years filled with good health, joy, and laughter.
