The wife of Nigeria’s Vice President, Nana Shettima, says President Bola Tinubu is building a secured future for the current and unborn generations of Nigerians, through his laudable economic policies.

Mrs Shettima made the declaration on Wednesday in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, when she hosted various women groups and students to a Sallah feast at her residence in Maiduguri.

The wife of the Vice President emphasised that the current administration under the leadership of President Tinubu is determined to leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.

She said “The administration is unwavering in its resolve to leave a good legacy and to build a future for the unborn generations. These are the cardinal agenda of the current President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The national cake that people keep talking about is already finished but President Tinubu is baking a new one for us that are alive today and for the Nigerian children and grandchildren that are coming behind us to also eat from that cake.”

Mrs Shettima added that the President means well for the people of Borno State and all parts of the country.

She therefore urged citizens to always pray for the President and members of his cabinet.

“I can tell you that he means well not only for Borno people but the entire nation. We should not forget him and his subordinates in our prayers,” she added.

The Vice President’s wife also encouraged Nigerians not to relent in giving advice to the government, as well as be constructive while criticizing the government, not just for political reasons.

“We should always try to communicate even if we want to criticize, let’s do it constructively,” Mrs Shettima advised.

She also disclosed that every year she organizes a Sallah feast as her own way of reaching out to the needy, well-wishers and neighbours.

The Director General of Maryam Babangida Centre for Women Development, Abuja, Mrs Asabe Bashir, who also graced the occasion, tasked women and the people of Borno State on exhibiting the lessons learned during the just concluded Ramadan fast.

She used the opportunity to sue for support and prayers for President Bola Tinubu, even as she thanked him for picking his Vice President from Borno State.

“I always reiterate on prayers because without prayers we can do nothing in life. We have just come out of Ramadan so let us imbibe that culture and lessons we received during the 29 days fast; we should continue being spiritual.

“We should thank God and President Bola Tinubu for remembering the people of Borno State again by bringing the seat of Vice President not just to the North-East region but Borno State after Ambassador Babagan Kingibe was elected along with the late Chief MKO Abiola so many years ago.

“We must continue to pray for the administration of President Bola Tinubu because if it succeeds, we succeed,”  She Bashir stressed.

On his part, the Speaker, Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Tijjani Abubakar, appreciated the support Nigerian youths are enjoying from President Bola Tinubu.

“We thank the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for identifying with the youth. Last week, he launched the Nigerian Youth Academy, which shows that they are carrying the young people along,” he said.

Mr Martins Ekunke, who spoke on behalf the South-South, Yoruba and Igbo communities residing in Borno State, commended President Tinubu’s wife, Oluremi Tinubu for galvanising support to people living with HIV/AIDS through her pet project, the renewed hope initiative.

Among those that attended the annual Sallah feat hosted by Mrs Shetima, were the wife of the Speaker, Borno State House of Assembly, Hajiya Maryam Lawan, Wife of the Deputy Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Hajiya Laure Musa-Askira, female Commissioners and Political Appointees as well as women groups, members of the Borno State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students, as well as the leaders of South-South, Igbo and Yoruba communities residing in Borno State among others.
