Nigerian Senate amends 2022 Appropriation Act

Nigerian senate on Tuesday passed the amended 2022 Appropriation Act, and the supplementary Appropriation Act, to extend its duration till June 2023.

 

Two other bills were also passed on Tuesday and they are; the Arbitration & Mediation bill 2023, as well as the federal college of agriculture (technical) Ogboinbiri, Bayelsa state establishment bill 2023.

 

Senate also approved President Buhari’s executive order seeking the establishment of ten additional national parks in nine states of the federation. The affected states are; Niger, Bayelsa, Kano, Jigawa, Kwara, Katsina, Nasarawa, Osun, and Plateau, with Bayelsa state having two national parks while the other eight states have one park each according to the President’s order.

 

Meanwhile, Senator Sani Musa is optimistic that the North Central Zone will clinch the number one Legislative seat in the 10th National Assembly, for giving the APC and President-elect, the highest percentage of votes in the 2023 elections.

 

Senator Musa who represents Niger East Senatorial district in Niger state, North Central Nigeria, made his position known while interacting with journalists on Tuesday.

 

He also revealed that the governing party was already working out a zoning formula for Leadership of the 10th parliament, with serious consideration on balancing the various interests that promote Nigeria’s unity.
