Nigerian Senate Confirms Olukayode As PENCOM Boss

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Agbaje Opeyemi Olukayode as the new Chairman of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).

Mr. Olukayode, who represents the South West, was nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to head the Commission.

The Senate also confirmed four other nominees as National Commissioners of the Agency. They are: Hafiz Muhammad Kawu Ibrahim as Commissioner, Technical (South West), Samuel Chigizie Uwandu as Commissioner, Inspectorate (South East), Charles Efe Sylvester Emukowhate as Commissioner, Finance (South South), Bello Abubakar Malabu as Commissioner, Administration (North East).

Their confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of a report submitted by the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service, chaired by Senator Oluwole Fasuyi Cyril.

Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau who presided the Plenary commended President Tinubu for the nominations, describing the appointees “as highly qualified.”

Senator Barau thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating the outstanding Nigerians to occupy these offices as he expresses confident in their ability to add value to the Agency.
