Nigerian Senate on Tuesday reconvened in plenary after observing two week recess to mark the Eid Al-Adha Celebration.
President Of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on resumption, announced the Names of Majority Leadership of the 10th Senate, which he said was “after due consultations by the political parties concerned.
Acording to the governing party, the APC, the Majority Leader of the senate is Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, while his Deputy is Senator David Umahi who is the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi state in South East Nigeria.
Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume was also elected as Chief Whip of the Senate, while Senator Lola Ashiru is to serve as his Deputy.
Meanwhile, President of the Senate also announced Leaders of the minority caucus to include, Senator Mwadkon Simon Davou (PDP, Plateau North) as the Minority Leader, while Senator Oyewumi Kamorudeen Olarere (PDP Osun West) as the Deputy Minority Leader.
