Nigerian Speaker Charges Super Eagles To Win AFCON Tournament

The Speaker of the Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has issued a passionate charge to the Super Eagles, urging them to maintain their momentum and bring the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy back to Nigeria.

Tajudeen made the call following the Super Eagles’ clinical 2-0 victory against Algeria in the quarter-finals, a win that propelled Nigeria into the semi-finals and ignited celebrations across the country.

Abbas commended Nigeria’s team for displaying brilliant performances since their first match at the AFCON. As Nigeria prepares to face hosts Morocco on Wednesday, the Speaker expressed confidence in the Super Eagles to cross the hurdle to the finals.

While the Speaker commended the Nigerian sports authorities for providing the needed welfare and logistics support, he called for more morale boosters for the Super Eagles as the team enters the final stages.

He noted his long-standing belief that sports remain one of the tools for uniting Nigerians across ethnic and religious lines, a major employer of labour and a huge potential for the economy.

The Speaker wished the Super Eagles a successful outing during the AFCON semi-finals.
