Nigerian table tennis star, Aruna Quadri, has maintained his 20th position in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings, while Egypt’s Omar Assar continues to lead Africa, holding the 17th spot worldwide.

The latest rankings released shows Quadri holding steady with 1290 points, placing second in Africa. While he did not experience a significant jump in his ranking this period, his consistent performance on the international circuit has solidified his place among the world’s elite table tennis players.

Quadri continues to be a prominent figure in African table tennis and a source of inspiration for aspiring athletes across the continent.

As the Nigeria prepares for the upcoming Singapore Smash tournament, he will be aiming to improve his ranking and continue to showcase his exceptional skills on the global stage. Quadri’s dedication and hard work have made him a role model for aspiring athletes in Nigeria and beyond.

Egypt’s Hana Goda has reached a career-high ranking of 27th in the latest ITTF World Rankings, establishing her as Africa’s top female player.

At only 17, Goda has overtaken fellow Egyptian Dina Meshref, who had been the continent’s leading player since 2012. This shift marks a pivotal moment for African table tennis, highlighting Goda’s recent achievements.

Since her first senior title win in 2022, Goda has added three more titles to her name and made the semifinals in every continental event. Her notable achievements in 2024, such as reaching the quarterfinals at the WTT Champions and winning the African Championships, confirm her status as Africa’s premier player.
