Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Capitalisation Declines By N62bn

After three consecutive days of gains on the equities market of the Nigerian Exchange, the market capitalisation depreciated by N62 billion to close at N32,240 trillion as against N32, 302 trillion naira on Wednesday.
The all-share index also dropped by 0.19% to close at 59,211.26 basis points compared with 59,323.95 at the close of trading the previous day.
The market sentiment however remained in the positive territory to close with 34 gainers relative to 32 losers.
NEM Insurance Company led the gainers with 10% price gain to close at N6.93k, followed by Cornerstone Insurance Company with 9.9% gain to close at N1.11k and Skyway Aviation Handling Company appreciated by 9.74% to close at N8.45k.
On the losing side were Lasaco Assurance with 10% loss and a closing price of N2.34, followed by Sovereign Trust Insurance with 9.84% loss and a closing price of N0.55 after which, Unity Bank recorded a loss of 9.63% to close at N1.22k.
Wapic Insurance recorded the highest volume of 97.1 million traded shares and was followed by United Bank for Africa with 48.1 million shares.
At the end of the day’s trading, a total of 615.9 million shares with market value of N6.62 billion were traded in 7,459 deals.
