The Nigerian stock market capitalisation appreciated by 0.17 per cent to close at ₦90.115 trillion, higher than the N89.960 trillion recorded in the previous session.
Equity investors started the new week with a gain of ₦154 billion at the close of business on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on Monday.
Similarly, the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) inched up by 240.56 basis points, representing a 0.17 per cent increase, to close at 142,377.56 basis points compared to Friday’s 142,133.03 basis points.
At the end of business on Monday, market sentiment closed negative with 25 stocks on the gainers’ list relative to 36 decliners.
SFSREIT and THOMASWY led the gainers’ table with a 10 per cent increase each, closing at ₦346.55 and N3.63 respectively.
LIVINGTRUST followed with a 9.90 per cent profit on its share price to settle at ₦5.66, while ETERNA closed at ₦30.65 after clinching a 9.86 per cent gain.
On the other hand, Mansard Insurance recorded a 10 per cent drop in its share price to close at ₦14.40, followed by UPL with a 9.85 per cent loss to close at ₦5.40.
LearnAfrica’s share price dropped by 9.72 per cent to close at ₦6.50, while Julius Berger lost 8.70 per cent to close at ₦136.50.
The day’s trading session ended with a total of 388.95 million shares valued at ₦11.62 billion traded in 28,116 deals.
