Nigerian Troops Neutralise Terrorists, Recover Arms in North East

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have successfully conducted a series of coordinated operations against JAS/ISWAP terrorists in the Northeast theatre of operations.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, between August 23 to 30, 2025, the operations yielded significant results, with over 20 terrorists neutralised across OPHK sectors.

The operations took place in various locations, including Gujba, Gubio, Sabsawa, Whumtakum in Chibok LGA, Mandarari in Konduga LGA, Gajigana in Magumeri LGA, Konduga, Banki, and Loskori Kura in Mafa LGA.

“Troops recovered several AK-47 rifles, rocket-propelled grenade tubes and bombs, terrorists’ logistics items, and a large cache of 7.62 mm ammunition,” he said.

“Additionally, troops safely detonated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and intercepted 242 bags of NPK fertilizer believed to be for delivery to terrorists.

“Several terrorist logistics suppliers and collaborators have also been arrested, disrupting their supply chain.”

He said the military high command has commended the troops for their determination and dexterity in the operations, assuring them of unwavering support to sustain the fight against insurgency.

“The week-long offensives have denied terrorists the freedom to operate, creating an enabling environment for socio-economic activities to thrive in the Northeastregion.”
