Nigeria’s Corporate Leaders to Brainstorm on Sustainable Development Goals

Corporate heads from over 70 organisations in Nigeria are to join other leaders of government establishments and the United Nations Global Compact to exchange ideas on the role of private sector in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs.)

The Open House, organised by the United Nations Global Compact Network Nigeria, in collaboration with the United Nations Global Compact office, New York with the theme; “The Business Case for Sustainability,”will be held on Friday, 17 June 2022 in Lagos.

The Open House will feature a panel discussion with deliberations on SDG-aligned business practices, a showcase of experiences, challenges, successes, new trends, and ambitions for Nigeria.

One of the key highlights of the event is the onboarding session for over 35 well-respected large corporations expected to participate at the United Nations Global Compact, including Dangote Group, Heineken Nigeria, Lafarge, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), and KPMG Nigeria.

The United Nations Global Compact Network Nigeria is one of the 71 local networks (country office) of the UN Global Compact.

Guided by the 10 principles and the 17 SDGs, the network support companies and stakeholders will deliberate to understand what responsible business means within a global and local context, thereby providing guidance for sustainability.

The UN Global Compact Network Nigeria stimulates and facilitates the creation of local connections. It also serves as a catalyst to companies and stakeholders to achieve AGENDA 2030.
