Nigeria’s Council of Ministers meet over 2016 budget

The Federal Execitive Council is currently meeting in the presidential Villa Abuja. The Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed said the meeting is “purely and only on the 2016 Nigerian budget”.

He added that the council would take a look at the budget as it affects every ministry.

Just yesterday the National Assembly sent a copy of the budget to the President for a second time.

The first time it was sent to President Buhari it was not detailed enough and had to be returned to the lawmakers.

As at the time of filing this report, the ministers went on a break to reconvene after the Friday prayer the Muslims.

Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed told state House Correspondents that more details on the proceedings of the meeting would be given to them after the meeting.

The meeting which is presided over by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as some presidential aides in attendance.
