Nigeria’s COVID-19 curve flattens at a rapid pace

The COVID-19 pandemic curve has rapidly been flattened at an incredibly fast pace. This follows several measures implemented by the government such as wearing a face mask, social distancing, lockdown procedures and the administration of vaccines which has slowed the spread of the pandemic in the country.

The latest data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), announced on Saturday reveals 41 new cases of COVID-19  was confirmed, with zero deaths.

The 41 new cases were from 7 states, Lagos state reported the highest number with 16 new cases, Yobe was second with 14 while Edo state had the lowest with 1 new case.

Since Nigeria began the inoculation of people with COVID-19 vaccines in march, Over a long period of time the number of people infected are around the same.

The difference is the number of cases that occur each day, especially in the last 7 days with it’s consistency.

Sunday recorded 37, Monday 49, Tuesday 47, Wednesday 44, Thursday 53, friday 49 new cases making it 320 confirm cases for the this week.
