Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered 1,000 petty traders in Benue State by providing each with N50,000 through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Economic Programme.

The ceremony, held in Makurdi, saw Mrs. Tinubu acknowledge the significant challenges faced by SMEs, particularly petty traders, who play a crucial role in the local economy.

The grants aim to help women overcome business obstacles, expand their businesses, create jobs, and contribute more to the economy. The total cost of the programme is over N1.8bn.

Governor Hyacinth Alia thanked the women for their support, while Mrs. Scholastica Ben-Sor praised the First Lady for consistently supporting the women of Benue through various empowerment initiatives.
