Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu has urged citizens to lend more support to people with disabilities.
Mrs Tinubu made the call in her message to commemorate this year’s International Day for Persons with Disabilities (IDPwD).
She said all humans are equal and stressed the need for everyone to be treated as such.
President Tinubu’s Wife said; “Today, I join millions of Nigerians and the global community to mark the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
“This year’s theme, ‘Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress,’ calls for renewed commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and empowerment.”

“This day serves as a reminder of our collective duty to build a society where everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to thrive, participate, and contribute meaningfully to our shared progress,” Mrs Tinubu said.
The First Lady emphasised that persons with disabilities must be supported to be independent at all times.
“A truly inclusive Nigeria must ensure that persons with disabilities are supported and empowered to be independent,” she stressed.
