Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has unveiled a five-pillar agenda for his ministry, at the maiden edition of the Ministerial Press Briefing Series in Abuja on Wednesday.

The agenda, which aligns with the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aims to restore trust, amplify policies and programs, reorient national values, modernize technology and talent, and create an enabling environment for the media.

“We are determined to restore trust, confidence and credibility to public communications, by engaging in a timely, proactive and consistent fashion with all our stakeholders, across government, the media, private sector and international community, deploying all available platforms and media,” Idris said.

He said the briefing series, which will feature senior officials of the federal government, is an opportunity for the press and the public to hear first-hand information about the government’s achievements and plans, and to ask questions and receive clarifications.

He also introduced his colleague, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, as the special guest of the debut edition of the series.

Kyari shared highlights of the work done by his ministry to implement the Renewed Hope Agenda in the critical sector of the Nigerian economy.

Idris said the briefing series will take place periodically in the months and years ahead, and will be widely covered by traditional and digital platforms.
