Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has announced the Spokespersons’ Summit, a four-day event to equip spokespersons with the knowledge, experience, and skills to enhance their performance.

The Minister announced this on Thursday, February 1, 2024, in a meeting with the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, led by its acting president, Emmanuel Dandaura. The Ministry partnered with the Institute to organise the summit, which will take place from March 25 to 28, 2024.

“Whether in government, the private sector, the development sector, or the voluntary sector, spokespersons have an essential role in redeeming the image of their organisations and the nation in the long run,” the minister said.

Idris urged them to imbibe values that would portray their country well and align with the government’s National Value Charter.

The minister said the summit will provide spokespersons with the opportunity to learn from experts, share best practices, and participate in clinics.

He assured them that the summit would help them succeed in their important assignments and cascade the message to their platforms.
