Nigeria’s Positive Image: VON reaffirms commitment to partner with institutions

Voice of Nigeria’s Director General, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, has reiterated his dedication to collaborate with reputable institutions to promote Nigeria positively on a global scale.
He stated this during a visit to the Maryam Abacha American University in Kano State, Northern Nigeria
With its multilingual platforms, Ndace noted that Voice of Nigeria holds a unique advantage in broadcasting across Africa.
“As Director General I am determined to close the gap by sharing content and exchange of expertise.”
Expressing his commitment to bridging the gap between the positive aspects of Nigeria and the outside world, Ndace emphasized the importance of sharing authentic content and exchanging expertise.
He highlighted the efforts of Voice of Nigeria in partnering with media outlets both within Nigeria and globally to uphold ethical standards in modern journalism.
Ndace emphasized the pivotal role of Voice of Nigeria in narrating Nigerian stories and showcasing the nation’s positive policies, traditions, and values to the international community.
He revealed plans to expand broadcasts of Voice of Nigeria to include languages such as Bahasa in Malaysia, Portuguese, Mandarin and pidgin English .
“Voice of Nigeria presently broadcast in eight Languages English , Hausa, Igbo ,Fulfulde and Yoruba in addition to French,Arabic and Swahili.”
Professor Adamu Gwarzo, the Founder of Maryam Abacha American University, underscored the importance of capacity building for broadcast journalists.
He recognized Voice of Nigeria as a crucial broadcasting channel for conveying positive Nigerian narratives globally.
Gwarzo pledged the institution’s support in offering training to Voice of Nigeria staff, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing capacity and meeting modern broadcasting challenges.
He highlighted the shift towards digital platforms in European radio stations as he welcomed the partnership with Voice of Nigeria as an opportunity to provide a better platform for disseminating positive information about Nigeria and Africa.
“We can be organizing training for Voice of Nigeria, we don’t need you to even give us money. We can do it free for you.
“Without training you cannot be excellent. I can also link you with some International institutions in the world where some can even give you scholarship to do certificate maybe on globalization, TV stations Analysis, Modern Radio Stations.”
The collaboration between Maryam Abacha American University and Voice of Nigeria signifies a step towards combating misinformation and promoting Nigeria’s image on the global stage.
