Nigeria’s Stock Market records third day of consecutive loss

Trading activities in Nigeria’s equity market closed in the red on Thursday making it the third consecutive day of loss this week.

 

The market capitalization lost N67 billion to close at N20,361 trillion, lower than Wednesday’s N20.428 trillion.

 

The All-Share Index also shed 0.33% or 128.39 points to close at 38,916.74 points as against 39,045.13 on Wednesday.

 

On Thursday, investors traded a total of 239.42 million shares valued at N2.31 billion in 4,450 deals just as the market recorded 27 gainers relative to 12 losers.

 

UACN led the gainers’ table to close at N9.90k after it gained N0.9k, followed by Royalex which gained N0.03k to close at N0.33k;Japaulgold gained N0.04k to close at N0.45k.

 

On the other hand, FTNCOCOA recorded a loss of N0.04k to close at N0.42k, while NEM lost N0.17k to close at N2.13k followed by Unity Bank which lost N0.05k to close at N0.70k.

 

UACN was the toast of investors as it traded 37,374 million shares valued at N370.61million, while Transcorp traded 25,914 million shares worth N20,876 million.
