NiMet DG Wins Aviation Sector CEO Of 2024

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Professor Charles Anosike has been honoured with the prestigious award of ‘Aviation Sector CEO of the Year 2024’ by the Independent Newspapers Limited.

At a ceremony held at the Expo Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, Professor Anosike was honoured for his proactive efforts in transforming NiMet.

The agency was also praised for its valued contribution to various socio-economic sectors of the country through partnerships with local and international institutions.

The citation said, among other things, “We particularly note your agency’s issuance of early warnings aimed at preventing the loss of property, including farmlands, and lives, especially to floods across the country due to climate change, which is a threat multiplier.”

Professor Anosike dedicated the award to the hardworking staff and management of NiMet, and thanked the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo for his supportive leadership.

Keyamo was also awarded the Minister of the Year 2024 award by the organizers.
