NIN enrolment: NIMC distributes additional systems to enhance efficiency

The Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Odusote-Coker, has approved the deployment of extra enrolment systems to every state in the federation to alleviate challenges in National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment and enhance overall operational capacity.

Odusote-Coker reported that the systems have been successfully installed and utilized nationwide, leading to a notable decrease in the time applicants spend accessing the service. The introduction of these additional enrolment devices underscores NIMC’s dedication to streamlining operations and improving overall effectiveness.

The Director General sent monitoring and evaluation teams to centres across the country to ensure smooth enrollment and modification.

“The team will also ensure strict compliance with her zero-tolerance stance against all forms of extortion and unethical practices,” Coke-Odusote said.

Extortion

She emphasized that her administration would not tolerate the extortion of applicants. She has unequivocally instructed that any staff engaged in such practices will face appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the constitution and existing Public Service Rules.
