NITDA Collaborate with Kebbi State to Drive Digital Growth

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) recently welcomed a delegation from the newly established Kebbi State Ministry of Digital Economy, marking a significant step towards unlocking the state’s digital potential.

The delegation led by the Commissioner for Digital Economy, Hon. Muhammad Ibrahim, engaged with NITDA officials to discuss strategic collaborations aimed at advancing innovation and growth in Kebbi State’s digital sector.

This collaboration underscores the growing recognition of digital technology as a transformative tool for socio-economic development, not only nationally but also across states. The impact of this partnership is expected to extend far beyond Kebbi State’s borders.

NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting Kebbi State’s ambitious digital transformation agenda. He emphasised NITDA’s proven expertise in fostering IT development across Nigeria and pledged the agency’s resources to help establish a robust digital ecosystem in the state.

Hon. Muhammad Ibrahim outlined his ministry’s vision of positioning Kebbi State as a hub for digital innovation in Nigeria. He highlighted the importance of partnerships with federal institutions like NITDA to drive key initiatives, including digital skills development, e-governance, and technology-driven solutions to enhance socio-economic growth.

Discussions centred on areas such as the development of tech hubs, capacity-building programmes, and integration of digital technology into sectors like agriculture, education, and healthcare. Both parties stressed the need to harness Kebbi State’s potential by creating an enabling environment for startups, SMEs, and digital innovators.

This partnership aligns with Nigeria’s efforts to diversify its economy through technology and innovation. By collaborating with NITDA, Kebbi State seeks to bridge the digital divide, empower its youth, and attract investment in the technology sector.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to accelerate plans and implement programmes to position Kebbi State as a leading player in Nigeria’s digital economy.
