NITDA, De Lorenzo collaborate to improve Africa’s digital economy

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) of Nigeria and the Italian technology company, De Lorenzo, have entered into a formal strategic partnership with the objective of bridging the digital disparity between Europe and Africa. The collaboration aims to enhance the digital economy across the continent.

The partnership was announced when the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA),  Kashifu Inuwa, hosted Matteo Prosperi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of De Lorenzo Global, in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations to empower youth within Learning Centers, Hubs, and Tech Zones, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda. The overarching goal is to foster job creation and establish a resilient digital economy.

De Lorenzo Global is a leading manufacturer and supplier of purposefully made didactic technology equipment. Their expertise encompasses a spectrum of fields, including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Machine Automation, Process Control, and Factory Automation, solidifying their position as leaders in delivering purposefully crafted educational technology solutions.

The collaborative effort seeks to create an enhanced environment for startups and entrepreneurs on the continent, offering comprehensive support through essential elements such as tailored training, mentorship programs, and accessible funding opportunities.

One of the primary objectives of this partnership is to address some of the key challenges facing Africa’s digital economy, such as cybersecurity threats, the digital skills gap, and limited access to finance.

By leveraging De Lorenzo’s technological expertise and NITDA’s regulatory framework, the partnership seeks to develop innovative solutions that can help overcome these obstacles.

The collaboration is expected to help build a robust and vibrant tech ecosystem in Africa, with a particular focus on Nigeria. President of De Lorenzo Global, Mr. Luciano Prosperi, generously donated 1000 e-learning solutions across various fields within their product portfolio, bolstering resources for Nigeria’s educational institutions.

The NITDA-De Lorenzo partnership will not only benefit local startups and entrepreneurs but also attract foreign investors seeking to tap into the continent’s growing digital economy. Additionally, it will play a pivotal role in generating employment for young individuals, fostering digital literacy, and catalyzing economic growth and development in the region.
