NITDA Issues Cybersecurity Alert on Potential Spotify Threats
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has issued a cybersecurity alert, cautioning Nigerians about potential threats related to Spotify.
The alert notes that threat actors are exploiting Spotify playlists and podcasts to promote pirated software, game cheat codes, spam links, and “warez” sites. By inserting targeted keywords and links in playlist titles and podcast descriptions, these actors aim to enhance the SEO of their questionable online properties, taking advantage of Spotify’s web player results in search engines like Google.
