NITDA Strengthens Partnership with GIZ to Drive Digital Transformation

In a bid to accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, represented by Oladejo Olawumi, Director of IT Infrastructure Solutions Department, welcomed Dr Thuweba Diwani, Commission Manager of GIZ Digital Transformation Centre, and her team on a courtesy visit to NITDA’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

This visit aimed to reinforce the ongoing partnership between NITDA and the GIZ Digital Transformation Centre, focusing on enhancing digitalisation efforts in Nigeria. Key areas of collaboration include digital transformation, improving digital literacy among young people and women, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the tech ecosystem to support start-ups.

The partnership seeks to scale up successful initiatives and explore new areas to promote economic growth and job creation through digital transformation, contributing to Nigeria’s socio-economic development in line with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

NITDA and GIZ have a history of collaboration, including the launch of the ‘Digital Policy Dialogue’ to promote inclusive policy implementation in Nigeria. The ongoing partnership aligns with the objectives of the Digital Transformation Centre Nigeria, which aims to improve the capacity of the Nigerian economy to utilise digital innovations for growth and enhance the innovation ecosystem.
